2016 whats new

Well, 2016 is finally here, and it’s time to anticipate what is going to happen in the online marketing world. The digital world has changed at a fast pace in 2015, and it is all set to even faster changes in 2016.

Here are my predictions for the online marketing world in 2016:

1. Video Marketing Will Dominate

Video marketing is not a new trend. In 2015, 50 percent online videos accounted for 50 percent of all mobile traffic. Video marketing has been with us over the years, thanks to social networks like Facebook and YouTube that host billions of videos. However, the New Year is going to be different because search engine giant Google is all set to launch its in-SERP video advertising service. This proves that Internet users prefer to watch videos online, and the trend will continue. In 2016, you can expect to see more videos showing up around the web.

2. Growth Hacking

Growth hacking is here to stay, and it will continue to grow and evolve in 2016. The New Year will see more startups using growth hacking to scale up. They will develop new frameworks to use the concept as a practical, digital guerilla marketing method. The trend in growth hacking will lead to rapid growth of startups. Don’t forget growth hacking helped Tinder grow from 5,000 users to nearly 15,000 users within hours.

No doubt, growth hacking is going to be the next wave. It will disrupt most of our traditional assumptions and ideas, changing how startups market their brands. No matter what the nature of your business, growth hacking will give you better results than traditional marketing. This means that it’s the best time to join in.

3. Search Engines

Google is leading the search market, and it will even continue to grow by offering us innovative services. Remember, search is the major source of outside traffic for content websites, beating social media by more than 300 percent.

If you are still using the traditional SEO methods, it’s time to rethink your approach. Google will prefer more comprehensive content in 2016. It will analyze your content for proof and relevance. Your content quality and headers will gain more importance. Google will analyze your site for mobile friendliness, load time and content structure.

4. Social Networking

Social networking is one of the trendiest online activities, and it will continue to be the trend in 2016. The number of social network users will continue to increase in the New Year and businesses will come up with innovative ways to cut through the clutter. Video marketing within social networking will also give businesses a boost.

By 2019, the number of social media users in the US are expected to increase by around 20 million. At present, there are 2.206 billion active social media users worldwide, which means a worldwide penetration of 30 percent.

Now that you’re aware of the most important online marketing changes set to take 2016 by storm, it’s time to re-evaluate your online marketing strategies. Make sure to use these predictions as a guide to tweak your online marketing plan.
