AI-Driven Merchandising Hub To Provide Risk-Sharing Option For Retail
The Coveo Merchandising Hub, built on technology acquired from Qubit in October 2021, made its debut Wednesday. It will give merchandisers a way to create personalized experiences, and relevant shopping journeys as well as build loyalty and increases profitability.
The integration of Qubit’s technology enables Coveo to offer a more comprehensive commerce product discovery suite. The company will showcase the Merchandising Hub at the NRF 2023 Retail’s Big Show held next week.
The artificial intelligence (AI) helps determine the user’s true intent within a matter of clicks, said Brian McGlynn, GM of commerce solutions at Coveo.
“The technology will enable Coveo to guarantee performance,” he said. “We are willing to guarantee our clients an ROI. We will look at the performance delivered, and in many cases the fees will come from that. It’s not a mandate, but an option for them.”
About 100 retail customers use various part of Coveo’s technology, but today about “a couple of dozen” use the Merchandising Hub. “If they choose that option, we will agree to it,” McGlynn says. “It’s a risk-sharing initiative.”
McGlynn says one unnamed customer was able to transition from 14,000 merchandising rules in their system down to eight, which increased revenue by 12%.
As people search for relevant content and merchandise, Coveo works with retailers and brands to power the search using artificial intelligence. The AI signals the platform to repeat functions and tasks.
The Merchandising Hub features an intuitive interface that enables merchandising teams to operationalize campaigns. It observes, learns and applies tasks. It provides AI and merchandizing for one-on-one personalized search results. It helps retailers with large and complex product catalogs that may span thousands of product attributes. With the Facet Generator, customers see the most relevant filtering options for each search query reducing friction and helping conversion.
There’s also a product listing manager, personalized content support, advanced decisioning recommendations, and more.
Coveo customer Kurt Geiger, a London-based footwear and accessories retailer, relies on Coveo’s AI-led one-to-one personalized customer experiences that are intended to enable shoppers to feel the authentic journey of making a purchase.
