Can you believe Easter is only seven weeks away? Now is the time to start pulling your email campaigns together, especially if you want to fulfil bookings and maximise revenue over the busy school holiday and bank holiday weekend.
Don’t leave the creation of your emails until the very last minute, start planning now and check out these Easter themed emails for design inspiration.
1. Hotel Chocolat
Last week the following email was sent out by Hotel Chocolat, eight weeks prior to Easter Sunday. I love how they’ve imitated a bunch of flowers to showcase their Easter egg range and used clear messaging to encourage people to visit their website.
For those who want something a bit different, they’ve also featured their delicious chocolate spread range which really sets them aside from the competition.
2. The Cromwell Cottage
Last year this popular restaurant in Northampton started sending emails to their subscribers four weeks before Easter. They went with a simple spring design and hero image to promote the Easter weekend, a sample dish from their menu and distinctive call-to-action that’s repeated through the email prompting people to book a table online.
3. Stocklot
Last year this email was sent to customers two weeks prior to the Easter weekend to advising them on upcoming Easter deals. They didn’t overcomplicate the email and used an Easter egg themed hero image featuring simple messaging and a few key brands to generate interest.
4. Trainline
This email was sent almost two months in advance to prompt people to think about their plans over the Easter period. They haven’t used an Easter theme, but the image definitely represents train travel. If their subscribers weren’t planning a holiday over the holiday period this would have certainly sparked the idea, especially after seeing those low train fares.
5. Wyboston Lakes
This popular venue near Milton Keynes uses Maxemail to build and manage their email campaigns, and last year sent this email in the week leading up to Easter Sunday as a final attempt to fulfil restaurant bookings.
They’ve used a spring theme and their message is clear. All the information you need for this venue has been provided without overcomplicating the email including what’s on offer, their location and how to book.
Planning Your Easter Campaign
To help you plan ahead for Easter, here are some key dates for your diary:
3rd to 18th April – School Easter Holiday
(date dependent on region)
9th April – Palm Sunday
14th April – Good Friday (Bank Holiday)
16th April – Easter Sunday
17th April – Easter Monday (Bank Holiday)
When you start sending Easter emails will depend on your business offering. If you need to fulfil restaurant bookings you should really start now as this will give you time to remind your subscribers of what’s on offer and vary the message each time. You may want to promote your venue to increase bookings over the Easter bank holiday or the entire school holiday period.
Just remember that your subscribers are likely to receive lots of emails over the Easter period. Give them a reason to spend their time and money with you rather than the competition.
