Two free workshops on Internet marketing for small businesses will be offered in June at the Westport Library.
A program on Tuesday, June 3, will focus on website content, and one on Tuesday, June 17, will cover how to create a website using the WordPress program. Both workshops are co-sponsored by Fairfield County Score, the volunteer business-mentoring organization, and the library recommended advance registration at the Score website, www. scorenorwalk.org.
For each session, sign-in will be at 5:30 p.m. and the workshop will run from 6 to 8 p.m.
The June 3 workshop is “Making Content Work.” Deirdre Silberstein. of the business-writing firm Silberstein & Associates LLC. will demonstrate how to evaluate existing content and craft new material, with an emphasis on powerful writing and using a variety of media, the library said.
The June 17 workshop is “Using WordPress to Create a Website.” Jon Dupree, of Calibrate Marketing & Mentoring, will demonstrate how to build a website using the program that the library said is suited for small businesses. The session is an overview appropriate for beginning and intermediate users, the library said. Jeff Seaver, owner of Seaver Interactive, also will make a presentation.
