Google Search ‘Cars For Sale’ Widget Available In U.S.
Google Search will enable car dealerships to serve up lot inventory directly in search listings through a feature called Cars for Sale.
The utility, only available in the United States, allows dealerships to add the inventory directly to search listings through Google Business Profiles.
The tool now provides open access to local car inventory, and will become available to any motor vehicle dealership that sells cars, motorcycles, recreational vehicles or any other vehicle with a vehicle identification number (VIN).
The Cars for Sale widget “just opened,” according to SearchLab, which broke the news on Thursday, but the search engine has been working on the feature for years.
Dealerships in the U.S. will now have the ability to list inventory in their Google Business profiles. Those profiles serve up in search.
The feature allows consumers to browse a dealer’s inventory without leaving Google Search.
The move could increase ad sales in the search results by bringing consumers to the engine and not requiring them to leave to get the information needed. It also reduces the leads from search results to a dealership’s website.
Dealerships will show available vehicles with details about pricing, features, mileage, and other information. There is also a gallery of images with link to the dealer’s website for additional information.
Dealerships can find more information through Google’s vehicle listings. The company also provides a guide on how to participate.
