When did you start using Pinterest and what inspired you to make an account?
I joined Pinterest back in spring 2011. Yes, that long ago! I remember hearing about Pinterest online, then I checked the website, it was by invitation-only and it took months before I actually got an account. It was like the Holy Grail when I got the email! I wanted a place where I could make some kind of visual storyboard of inspirations.
Why do you like Pinterest?
I’m a visual and creative person. Pinterest gathers everything I love in one place, from travel to food, memory keeping to fashion, and DIY to tattoos. Career-wise, Pinterest is the number one tool to grow your business and popularity on social media.
You have gained over 166k Pinterest followers! That’s amazing! What makes your Pinterest unique?
My Pinterest is a mix of everything I love and everything a creative woman can find – DIY, fashion, travel, memory keeping, photography, food and more. I only pin what I really like and what makes my universe creative, fun or colorful. I share what I love, like I’ve always done on my blog, and my Pinterest allows me to share all of these visually.
Are you from Montpellier, France originally?
I was born and raised in the South of France, in Provence. My dad is Spanish and my mom is French and they met in the South of France. I lived in Canada for a year, when I was 23, but we moved back to France after that. Living in the South of France is like Dolce Vita – “The Sweet Life.” The weather is awesome all year long and Montpellier is a fun city, not far from the Mediterranean Sea. It’s surrounded by olive trees, lavenders and old stones. We love food so we can spend hours at a coffee shop, on a terrace talking with a friend and drinking coffee. I love that it’s a mix of old and new – old stones, middle-aged cathedrals, roman bridges, Renaissance churches, Gothic houses, and pavements. Not only that – it has new neighborhoods with beautiful architecture, clubs, bars and movie theaters too. I LOVE my city!
What are your favorite places you’ve traveled to? When did you go?
I’ve been lucky to travel to a lot of places. I’ve been to the US (many states), Canada, Panama, Brazil, Argentina, South Africa, Tunisia, Israel, United Arab Emirates, Singapore, Indonesia, Australia, New Caledonia, India, Sri Lanka, Greece, England, Ireland, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Germany, Holland, Belgium, Hungary,… and I travelled to all these fantastic places since 2004. So many countries within the last 10 years, thanks to scrapbooking mainly! I managed to teach classes in those countries and got days/weeks off after work to visit those amazing places.
Here are a few of my favorite places I’ve been lucky to visit: Seattle, my favorite city in the US; Montreal, where I lived for a year; South Africa, for the amazing safari we did; U.A.E, because it is beyond what I have ever seen before; India, for its colors and outstanding culture; Bali for everything, in love with that place; Sri Lanka because my favorite color GREEN is everywhere; Spain because it’s my second home country; Singapore for the food; and New Caledonia for the most amazing diving spots.
What are your favorite Pinterest boards to pin onto and why?
I’d say Memory Keeping, Travel and Fashion. Memory Keeping because it’s the main field for my job. Travel because it’s my passion and I love to pin images of places I’d love to go. Fashion because I’m a girl and love fashion.
Your Project Life board is gorgeous! We also love your 2015 – Let’s try this out board! Tell us more about these boards and why you made them!
Project Life® is an ultra-simple solution for getting your photos off your phone and computer, out of boxes, and into albums. I’ve been into this project for almost three years and I’m addicted. We tend to keep all of our photos only shared on social media but I love the idea that scrapbooking and Project Life is like a visual book of our memories. Both photos + stories are shared and it’s awesome.
I’m also always planning new projects, thinking new concepts, or online classes, or creative projects, so my ‘2015 – Let’s try this out’ board is a place where I pin images of challenges I’d like to try out, whether it is food, fashion, DIY or home decor!
What is your Pinterest style/aesthetic?
I’m definitely attracted to bold colors, contrasts, beautiful pictures and interesting information – whether it be for a recipe or a DIY.
Tell us more about your website!
My website is like if you enter my home! It’s a place where I share/write/blog/plan/enjoy. I talk about my latest trips, any new scrapbooking projects, a DIY video, you can see where and when my next workshop is held, and more! I love blogging. I’ve been blogging for over 12 years now and it’s not over yet! I’ve got two blogs, one I write in English and one in French. That way, I can reach a wider audience with two languages.
Tell us more about your passion for doing crafts, DIYs, and scrapbooking!
I started scrapbooking back in 2006, as a hobby first and then it quickly became my full time job. I do workshops all over the world and in France, launched a quarterly magazine in France, teach online courses, design for manufacturers and brands – so it’s a creative job; actually a dream job!
I’ve always been creative so whether it’s scrapbooking, knitting, sewing or a mix of all three. As long as I get my hands busy with paints, yarn or fabric, I’m happy!
Tell us more about your other passions and interests!
I knit a lot lately, it’s been a new hobby of mine for the last couple of months! And I like the fact that I can travel with my yarn and needles, which is not the case with scrapbooking for example. I love to paint and one of my goals for this year is to go back to mixed media more, like I used to.
I love photography and I’m always walking around a city with my smartphone and camera to take pictures. I’m always up for a good movie or a restaurant/bar with friends as always!
What are your plans and hopes for the future?
There are always plans, hopes and goals to be reached. I’d love to become a better blogger, develop a product line and collaborate with brands more, whether it be for DIY, travel or lifestyle.
