Stream-Blog_Graphics_OptimizeBlogPosts_12-10Your blog is your biggest lead generating tool. From using it to represent your brand to providing education to your prospects, your blog is the window into your business. That’s why, if it’s not optimized for maximum lead generation, you’ll quickly fall behind the competition.

Read on for three easy steps to optimizing your blog and generating more leads.

Step 1: Use Questions as Titles

Using a question as the title of a blog post has always been beneficial, but since Google changed its methods to better answer conversational questions, they’ve proved to be a useful tool in online content optimization.

Search results are based on relevance. So when someone searches “why does my car smell like oil,” Google provides the links for posts with titles that contain the same phrases used in the search. The more relevant the title is to the search term, the higher it ranks.

So change the title of your blog post to a question if the topic allows. Doing so increases the chances of your link being on the first page of search results, thus driving more organic traffic and leads to your website.

Step 2: Use the Right Keywords

To successfully optimize a blog post, it needs relevant keywords. That may seem like common sense, but some companies still make the mistake of overloading their blog posts with both related and unrelated keywords. This not only makes the website rank lower, but it also drives away potential customers.

Remember that you’re writing for humans, not search engines. Just write your business’s blog post to educate your audience. The right keywords will form naturally without negatively affecting the quality of your content.

And don’t worry if you feel like you have too few keywords. Google places informative blog posts that answer customers’ questions over those with an abundance of buzz words but lacking useful information.

Step 3: Use Calls to Action and Social Sharing Icons

Once you’ve created your post with the proper headlines and keywords, you’ll want to guide readers toward becoming leads with a call to action. They provide potential customers with the choice to learn more about your business by directing them to a contact page or a free eBook download.

You can also add social sharing icons to your blog posts. These can broadcast your posts to new audiences, allowing for even more website traffic, leads, and sales.

With so many business blogs, it can be tough to get the masses to notice your posts. So follow these three steps to optimize your blog posts to help your business attract new customers, rank higher in search engine results, and achieve digital marketing success.
