Iterable Offers Email Campaign Tools For a Lower Price

Forbes, Thursday, October 2, 2014

Email campaigns are the mainstay of sales and marketing practitioners everywhere and there is a growing demand for highly flexible email campaign solutions that don’t cost what the “enterprise class” solution do. One vendor trying to make a dent in the market dominated by big companies like ExactTarget and Responsys is Iterable.

Iterable is a young company, it was founded last year by Justin Zhu and Andrew Boni, alumni from Twitter and Google. The pair were well aware of email’s effectiveness in driving revenue but also the fact that, frankly, personalized campaigns and A/B testing of email is just too hard.

Which is Iterable comes in. The platform is touted as a comprehensive marketing tool which is both easy to integrate into core systems, and quick for marketing folks to utilize. Which is where Workflows comes in. This new Iterable feature allows marketers to design complex, multi-step campaigns which include A/B testing. With the tools Iterable customers can build drip email campaigns that include different process flows. The editor is an intuitive drag and drop editor, and is similar to the Journey Builder functionality that Salesforce just announced for their competitor, ExactTarget .

Iterable’s response is that their solution is cheaper, faster and more readily integrated than Salesforce’s. Iterable looks like a pretty cool tool, time will tell whether that price differentiation is an ongoing differentiator.workflows
