In my private life I like to capture many of life’s little moments and my time with my children to share with family and friends. I don’t think I’m any different than the rest of society. In fact, we live in an “overshare” world where we post up-to-the-minute our daily dinner and clothing selections, funny moments with our pets, and the outside temperature while driving in our cars.
And, earlier this year Facebook made sharing in real-time even easier with their Facebook Live video streaming service. This is ingenious and a must-have tool for our “look at me” culture. It is also imperative that your clients get on board with this. Consumers like to get a peek behind the curtain of the companies and brands they support and follow.
Here are 3 reasons why your business and/or your clients should be Facebooking Live:
- Video content is a growing trend in online media – “Most of the content 10 years ago was text, and then photos, and now it’s quickly becoming videos,” Mark Zuckerberg said, justifying Facebook’s aggressive push into the area. “I just think that we’re going to be in a world a few years from now where the vast majority of the content that people consume online will be video.” http://bit.ly/2aStXw4
- Stay ahead of your competition. Tons of companies are jumping in to the Facebook Live mix with both feet, but very few are doing it well. Plan it out and don’t shoot from the hip. Here’s an example of a San Diego Alternative radio station, 91X (XTRA-FM), that does Facebook Live like a boss! http://bit.ly/2axX8bM;
- Facebook Live is one of the shiny new toys in Zuckerberg’s Facebook arsenal (the other is the recently announced Facebook Stories, but we’ll save that conversation for a later day). Facebook Live is a marketers dream as Facebook’s algorithm rewards companies that promote via this tool with extended reach of their posts. Who doesn’t want more reach and visibility for their marketing efforts? I know this guy does. http://bit.ly/2aPpaP8
So, when it is all said and done, you and your clients better jump on board or you can watch from the docks as the Facebook Live ship sails away. Bon voyage!
