TechTuesday-7-Ways-to-Grow-Your-Business-Using-Email

After years of researching, analysing and testing 100’s of different tools and technologies, I know what will work for my business, and what won’t. I share a lot of great tools in my blogs, during my webinars and in my book Think #Digital First. One tool which I have mentioned on a number of different occasions in Mailchimp.

Mailchimp is an email marketing tool that allows you to take a variety of different actions, which I will share with you below. Thinking of using MailChimp for your business? Keep reading for my 7 free ways to grow your business using Email.

  1. RSS to Email

As I post two different blogs a week, it may be hard for my community to stay up to date with reading my latest posts. If this is something you face, and want a quick fix, use RSS. Get your community to subscribe to receive your blog posts via email, so that they don’t miss out.

  1. Chimpadeedoo

Are you always on the go? If so, download the free of charge Chimpadeedoo app. It will allow you to collect email addresses for your MailChimp lists, even if you’re not online. A very handy app to have, especially if you run workshops or classes and want to sign someone up to your email list.

  1. Geolocation

Being able to track the location of where your emails are being opened is extremely important when understanding your target customer, and whether they are reading your emails. You can also see how many people are reading your emails from different locations and send an email to a particular location, within a list.

  1. Customizable Templates

One of my favourite features of Mailchimp is being able to easily customise your email newsletters. Mailchimp has a great collection of templates, however, you can also design your own (like I do) so that it stays brand consistent, clean and engaging.

  1. A/B Testing

Being able to do A/B testing will give you the results you need around your email subject lines. Use this feature to fully understand what will work best. Have a few different subject lines, A/B test them, and chose the one that is going to give you the best results.

  1. Guidance from the Chimp

“The Chimp” is in reference to the MailChimp mascot which is in the top righthand corner of the MailChimp dashboard. If you need help with your email marketing, Chimp is readily available – albeit in slang language (still genius).

  1. Automation (Paid)

I really couldn’t leave this feature out of my list because it is extremely important to my email marketing strategy. Being able to schedule my emails ahead of time. Another great automation feature is being able to set up an autoresponder. An autoresponder is a series of emails. I have done this for my social media 7 day eCourse, and my 6 step social media lead generation strategy. I have linked my website with Mailchimp so that anyone who signs up for this list, goes straight into the autoresponder campaign.

I hope the above 7 features will help you with your email marketing and my preferred tool for SMEs, MailChimp.
