So you want to hire an advertising agency to run your social media campaigns, but don’t know where to begin, what questions to ask, and what to expect. Well, you’ve come to the right place because I am about to tell you exactly how to get what you want out of social media for your business.
Every ad agency defines themselves as “expert,” so how exactly do you know what to look for? Here are the most important questions to ask when choosing a social media agency for you business.
What is your process for content creation?
First thing’s first: when you think of social media, you think of your brand’s voice being amplified through the content that is being posted on your social platforms to your current and your prospective customers.
You should ask the agency how they plan to execute the process for writing content for your business. Their answer should involve how they plan on developing and keeping your brand’s voice intact, staying up to date on current industry trends, and keeping your content relevant to your target audience.
Will my business have a presence on every social platform out there?
There are a lot of social platforms out there, but not every one is right for YOUR brand. You need to ask their strategies for choosing the platforms that are right for your business and how they’ll avoid social spam across those platforms.
While it makes sense for a clothing store, or a restaurant to have a Pinterest account, it doesn’t necessarily make sense for an automotive dealership to have one.
How will you measure progress and success?
Reporting is very important in the advertising world. You need to ask your potential agency how often they report, if they would be flexible with you if you want reports frequently, what tools they use to gather data, and what to expect when receiving the report (will they be presenting? Or will you be responsible for reviewing it on your own?)
You need to find an agency that will eloquently, and in layman’s terms, be able to show you how they are measuring your success – week after week, month after month, and year after year – and explain how they are continuing to grow your fan base and your customer’s satisfaction.
How much will it cost me to run social media campaigns and advertisements?
Ask the social media agency you are considering, what their plans are to keep your budget in mind while still generating the results you need to meet your objectives. Some questions that arise in this department are: how will they allocate your budget to make sure your social media presence is at an all-time high, and how are they going to work within your budget and get the most exposure possible?
